Technology Governance Manager - West Midlands (Hybrid)

Are you passionate about driving high‑quality technology governance, security, and risk management across a growing organisation? This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technology Governance Manager to shape and lead the governance framework within a modern, evolving technology function.
About the Role
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the organisation's technology governance structure-ensuring that risk management, cyber security, change processes, and compliance activities support business performance rather than slow it down.
Working closely with Technology leadership, you will champion a "secure by design" culture and ensure the business maintains compliance with key standards including ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and refine the technology governance framework and ensure alignment with organisational risk practices.
2. Maintain technology policies, standards, and procedures; ensure they are clear, practical, and well‑communicated.
3. Lead technology risk management, maintaining risk registers, controls, mitigation plans and reporting.
4. Oversee technology change governance, ensuring effective, risk‑based assessment and approval of changes.
5. Support cyber and information security alignment across technology teams.
6. Coordinate internal and external audits for regulatory and certification compliance.
7. Ensure effective vendor and supplier governance aligned to security and risk obligations.
8. Own and maintain the Technology Disaster Recovery Plan.
Skills & Experience
9. Proven experience in technology governance, risk, and compliance roles.
10. Strong understanding of ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and related governance frameworks.
11. Experience of IT change management and enterprise IT operations.
12. Ability to engage, influence, and communicate effectively across teams.
13. Strong project management and documentation skills.
14. CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 qualifications or similar are highly desirable.
