Overview

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Senior Sister/Charge Nurse (Band 7) in ED, on a 4 month secondment. We strongly believe in outstanding patient care and aim to attract like-minded people to help us maintain a supportive and enjoyable place to work. Every day will be different, busy but never dull. You will enjoy working with supportive co‑workers, providing an efficient and caring service to our patients.


Main duties

We are looking for dynamic, motivated, clinically strong candidates with experience in Emergency Medicine and an appetite for innovation, service change and improvement. You will be expected to function effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment without compromising essential standards of care and professionalism.


Working for our organisation

We are based in a purpose-built unit in a new hospital and are committed to delivering care in an outstanding facility. North Bristol NHS Trust is a large teaching hospital at the forefront of academic and nursing excellence. The ED is one of the busiest in the South West. As a Major Trauma Centre (MTC) and a Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU), the ED includes a 6-bedded resuscitation area with a 2:1 nursing ratio, a majors area with 14 cubicles and a 1:3 ratio, an ambulatory/observation unit and a dedicated minor injuries facility, including a unit for children, open 24 hours a day.

Qualification

Essential criteria

* Qualified nurse
* Recent experience at band 6 in ED

Desirable criteria

* Masters or working towards one
* ENP Course

Clinical Skills

Essential criteria

* ETC/main ED nursing skills/ALS/APLS

Desirable criteria

* Area of particular interest within ED/service development

Experience

Essential criteria

* At least 2 years at band 6 within an Emergency Department
