Modern Workplace Architect – Modern Workplace Engineering Practice
Introduction: This role sits within Avanade’s Modern Workplace Engineering Practice, which focuses on modernizing and extending the workplace technology ecosystem. We help our clients protect against evolving threats, empower new ways of working, and unlock greater business value through the Microsoft ecosystem.
Responsibilities
* Partner with clients to design and deliver future‑ready workplace solutions that drive business growth, resilience, and employee experience.
* Collaborate with account teams to shape, sell, and coordinate the delivery of strategic workplace transformation programs.
* Develop pragmatic and sustainable workplace roadmaps that help clients maximize the value of their Microsoft investments.
* Lead the creation of modern workplace architectures grounded in Zero Trust, cloud‑first principles, and intelligent automation.
* Contribute to the development and evolution of new workplace propositions, incorporating trends such as AI, digital employee experience, and hybrid work enablement.
* Support sales efforts by crafting proposals, delivering client presentations, and responding to RFPs.
* Engage with senior client stakeholders, providing trusted advisory services and translating business requirements into innovative technical solutions.
* Actively share expertise within Avanade, mentoring colleagues and contributing to our global community of modern workplace professionals.
Qualifications & Skills
* Proven experience architecting and supporting the sales and delivery of modern workplace solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on‑premises environments.
* Strong background in Microsoft 365 adoption, governance, and security — including content services, collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint, Viva), and compliance frameworks.
* Demonstrated track record leading enterprise‑scale digital workplace transformations ($1M+ programs), with measurable outcomes in productivity, security, and user experience.
* Expertise in end‑to‑end solution design, including enterprise architecture, integration, automation, and cloud‑native services.
* Practical experience leveraging AI‑driven workplace tools (e.g., Copilot, Power Platform, Cognitive Services) to drive innovation and efficiency.
* Knowledge of Zero Trust security principles, including identity, conditional access, device security, data loss prevention, and threat protection.
* Skilled in enterprise information architecture, content migration, workflow automation, and process optimization using Power Automate and third‑party tools.
* Ability to work seamlessly across global delivery models (onshore, nearshore, offshore) and collaborate within complex matrix organizations.
* Strong client‑facing consulting skills, with the ability to shape solutions, influence stakeholders, and translate business requirements into technical outcomes.
Technical Focus Areas
* Identity & Security: Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD, Conditional Access, MFA; Enterprise Mobility & Security; Zero Trust security principles.
* Endpoint & Device Management: Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Intune, Configuration Manager; Windows Autopilot; Windows as a Service; Endpoint hardening.
* Collaboration & Content Services: Microsoft 365 – Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Viva; Content services – Information architecture, migration; Workflow automation – Power Automate, Power Apps.
* Virtualization & Cloud PC: Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, Hybrid scenarios.
* Core Infrastructure: Active Directory, Azure platform services.
