Job Title: Insurance Underwriter
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing our clients' business in line with business plans and budgets, using industry knowledge to deliver competitive insurance terms, conditions, and service levels. You will provide compliant and timely administration and documentation, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Achieve targets and deliver underwriting service standards as agreed with insurers and clients.
2. Provide management information as required.
3. Contribute to team activities aligned with business plans and budgets.
4. Handle new business inquiries and renewals following underwriting guidelines.
5. Liaise with brokers and insurers regarding coverage and pricing.
6. Process received orders promptly, including policy production and invoicing.
7. Make referrals in line with underwriting guidelines.
8. Manage internal mentoring and buddying relations.
9. Develop strong relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders.
10. Ensure compliance with regulatory procedures.
Skills & Experience:
1. Technical knowledge of commercial insurance, including Property, Casualty, D&O, Professional Indemnity, Crime, Cyber, Group PA/Travel.
2. Efficient time and workload management skills.
3. Effective communication and relationship-building skills with brokers and insurers.
4. Understanding of client service best practices, compliance, systems, processes, and financial management.
5. Knowledge of product offerings and cross-selling opportunities.
6. Ability to develop, implement, and report on plans and budgets.
