Our Housing Support Service provides accommodation and support to some of the most vulnerable young adults in Fife who have experienced significant childhood adversity. We work with young adults who are ready to take the step from being care-experienced to living independently.
We are seeking individuals who can promote a safe, nurturing, and positive environment while empowering young adults to build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging.
You will:
1. Provide high‑quality support to young adults in a housing support setting
2. Assist in developing and implementing individual housing support plans
3. Promote a safe, nurturing, homely, and positive environment
4. Work confidently under lone‑working arrangements
5. Support young adults to maintain routines, education/employment, personal development, and daily living
6. Engage young adults in individual work to support them to meet agreed goals
7. Maintain accurate records and documentation
8. Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and partner agencies
9. Attend regular Progression Meetings
10. Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote young adults’ wellbeing
11. Uphold the principles of The Promise Scotland
12. Undertake practical household tasks (., cleaning, cooking) that promote a homely atmosphere
13. Participate in a variety of individual and group activities with young adults
14. Maintain professional standards as outlined by the SSSC and Care Inspectorate
The Person
You should:
15. Have experience working with young people or young adults who have experienced adverse childhood experiences
16. Understand the concepts and principles of attachment and trauma‑responsive care
17. Be able to look beyond presenting behaviours and display empathy, compassion, and hope
18. Build and maintain trusting relationships with young adults, supporting them toward their goals
19. Recognise that this is a demanding role requiring resilience, composure, and emotional strength
20. Hold an HNC in Social Care and SVQ3, or be willing to work towards these and register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting
21. Be able to organise and participate in activities within the house
