Your main responsibilities will be: Improvement of fleet impact on SWR performance and customer satisfaction through the effective management of the Fleet Planning Management team ensuring that delivery and availability targets are consistently met Carry out daily review of all fleet planning activities ensuring that effective reporting and close out has been conducted and take action where deficiencies are found Review and delivery of depot service level agreements and satisfaction against throughput with regards to capabilities and mileage control Management of the Fleet planning team Rosters in conjunction with laid down criteria and development of staff for training Management of Fleet planning Competence Management of Fleet planning Staff Performance Attendance at Timetablong and Resourcing Meetings with TPU Attendance on all Joint functional mitigation meetings & Teleconferences within the control function to ensure information and actions are cascaded Staff Disciplinary management Review and development of Fleet control processes and adherence to standards Cover FCM in extreme circumstances (Preferably Days only) Escalate all concerns and decisions to the Head of Fleet Performance Periodic reporting of Fleet Control Performance against KPI's Daily Attendance and action owner from the daily 10:00 Fleet Conference Development of process and methods for fleet planning within the control department Close working relationship with the senior fleet control manager You'll need: Education Management Skills IT literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint Essential) Influencing skills Self motivating, able to plan and deliver to tight timescales Excellent communicator Job Specific Knowledge & Skills Detailed Knowledge of Fleet Planning and logistics Detailed knowledge of the fleet environment Detailed knowledge of the SWR control environment and processes Knowledge of the railway operating environment Knowledge of the South Western Railway Business structure Customer focused Knowledge of Railway Performance Management Knowledge of the SWR operation and Network Knowledge of TRUST, BUGLE, Defect & Maintenance management systems Working pattern You will work an average of 37 hours per week across 5 days. Typically, office hours, Monday to Friday.
