Overview
SEN Teaching Assistant in a mainstream primary setting. Aspire People are partnering with a primary school in Salford, M38, to recruit a dedicated, motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to support within the KS2 department and SEND Unit within the school.
Location: Salford, M38 • Start: September 2025 • Availability: Long-term and casual positions available • Pay: 14.00 p/h – 17.00 p/h
The Primary School caters for young people with Social Emotional Mental Health and who have had a difficult period in their lives. They aim to provide the necessary support to improve confidence, self-esteem and enable pupils to become successful learners in school and prepared for their future working lives. Pupils are taught in small groups, study the core curriculum, and receive the extra support required to make progress.
Role and Responsibilities
* Build and maintain positive working relationships with pupils and assist them in overcoming barriers to learning to access the curriculum.
* Support pupils in KS2 who are part of the SEND Unit and who may display challenging behaviours; maintain a resilient and calm approach to practice.
* Provide targeted support to enable pupils to make good progress by tailoring learning to individual needs.
Requirements/Qualifications
* Experience supporting pupils displaying challenging behaviours and a resilient, calm approach to practice.
* Experience working with pupils in a SEND/EMH environment is desirable.
* Ability to work within a team and build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
