Job Description
We currently have an opportunity for a Transport Planner on a full-time, permanent basis at our Warrington site.
Shift: Monday to Friday
Job Purpose
The main purpose of this role is to effectively assemble loads/deliveries and resource the correct transport requirements. Analyze the planned versus actual to provide further efficiencies for the site P&L.
Key Duties
* Ensuring GTS housekeeping is constantly completed.
* Completing depot logs by the specified time.
* Inputting trailer numbers as soon as practical.
* Monitoring and reporting empty legs for shift.
* Monitoring Time lapse and Restricted parking reports by the specified time.
* Completing Microlise debriefs by the specified time.
* Reporting Microlise errors to the central team.
* Checking resource availability for the shift.
* Confirming driver start times for the next day.
* Monitoring and reporting WTD issues/concerns to the Operations team.
* Maintaining ongoing verbal communication with the driving team to supplement the use of Microlise.
* Ensuring clear daily communication between shifts.
* Managing drivers’ hours in relation to customer requirements and volume demand.
* Understanding and achieving specific targets regarding utilization, loaded, empty legs.
* Supporting the Transport Manager with all required Back-to-Back preparation.
* Undertaking Back-to-Back tracking during F1 season with regular updates to the team and customers.
Qualifications
* Working knowledge of WTD and EU Drivers Hours (Core).
* CPC National Qualification (Desirable).
* Working knowledge of GTS.
* Understanding of F1 Customer Contracts and back-to-back arrangements.
* IT literate, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Ability to multitask with a calm and flexible approach.
* Methodical and organized approach.
* Enthusiasm to learn and progress through experience and training.
* Excellent levels of commitment and motivation.
* Excellent communication and 'people skills' with the ability to establish effective working relationships.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills.
