Band 7 - Clinical Nurse Specialist Chronic Kidney Disease
Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and motivated Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our renowned renal service. This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading centres for kidney care, supporting patients across North Central London. Our team provides nurse-led clinic at the Royal Free Hospital and across our three kidney care centres located in North and central London. You will be required to rotate between sites.
As a CKD CNS, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, proactive, and patient-centred care for individuals living with CKD stages 4-5. You will work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, supporting early intervention, slowing disease progression, and empowering patients to make informed decisions about their kidney replacement treatment options.

Running specialist nurse-led CKD clinics, including advanced assessment and care planning
Providing expert advice, education, and support to patients and their families
Leading pre-dialysis education and shared decision-making pathways
Working closely with nephrologists, primary care teams, and community partners
Supporting early identification of deterioration and timely escalation
Contributing to service development, quality improvement, and audit programmes
Delivering specialist training to nursing, medical, and allied health colleagues
Supporting Trust-wide and regional initiatives aligned with national renal strategies
