The Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Finance Manager who not only brings financial expertise but also shares our commitment to social justice, equality, and community wellbeing. This is an opportunity to help bring balance and stability in uncertain times by supporting the sustainability of our projects.
The successful candidate will join a small but dedicated team in our lively and sometimes chaotic office. You’ll need the ability to stay calm, focused, and organised while helping us keep our finances on track.
Key Responsibilities
* Payroll & Bookkeeping: Manage monthly payroll, pension contributions, and staff reimbursements.
* Xero Accounting: Maintain accurate records, reconcile accounts, and produce management reports.
* Funding & Reporting: Support the development of funding applications by preparing finance sections (budgets, cashflow forecasts, costings), and manage financial reporting for funders.
* Events & Projects: Cost and price events, workshops, and services to ensure sustainability and profitability.
* Ooooby Management: Oversee financial processes relating to Ooooby (our online shop), including sales, supplier payments, and profit tracking.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with CIC regulations, HMRC, and Companies House requirements.
* Strategic Input: Provide financial insight to help shape the organisation’s growth and impact.
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in financial management, ideally within the third sector / social enterprise / CIC.
* Strong knowledge of Xero accounting software.
* Experience running payroll and pensions.
* Ability to prepare budgets, management accounts, and forecasts.
* Experience supporting funding bids with financial detail.
* Strong analytical skills for costing and profitability analysis.
* Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Desirable
