The organisation is on the lookout for dedicated Support Workers (Complex Needs Care) to join their friendly, busy team. In this role, successful candidates will be essential in providing stable and effective care for adult males who have experienced custodial time or secure hospitals. Organised, creative, client-focused individuals with strong communication skills are particularly encouraged to apply.
**Here’s a Quick Look at Key Responsibilities:**
Act as a Key Worker, providing general support to clients
Assist with personal care, including washing and dressing
Help with food preparation and ensure clients have access to meals
Support clients with mobility needs, including using equipment like hoists
Manage medication according to organisational policies - Prepare rooms for new clients and maintain tidy communal spaces
Stay calm and assess risks, especially in challenging situations
Guide fellow Support Workers and enhance client engagement
Facilitate client participation in activities and meetings
Participate in safety assessments for clients and staff
Offer advice and training to those in their care
Attend team meetings to discuss risks and behaviours
Provide support for both prospective and former residents
Be ready to provide first aid in emergencies
**Desired Qualifications:**
A flexible attitude when tasks change quickly
Basic literacy and numeracy skills, along with some IT knowledge in Microsoft Office
Ability to thrive in a challenging environment
Excellent listening and speaking skills
A proven team player who is reliable and can manage their own workload
**Other Details:**
Willingness to undertake an Enhanced Adults DBS check
Availability to work 37.5 Hrs per week, 08:00 – 20:30 for three shifts within seven days, following a 2-week rolling rota (including weekends and public holidays)
A desire to help others, particularly those who are disadvantaged
A full driving license is essential due to the organisation’s location
