The post holder will lead other chaplains and faith leaders, including those employed by the Trust. They will liaise with community faith leaders to signpost discharged and community patients.
The post holder will facilitate access to chaplaincy and other faith services for service users and carers across AWP.
The post holder will ensure the Trust meets the UK Board of Healthcare Chaplaincy standards, develop a work plan, and deliver a comprehensive chaplaincy service that addresses the religious, spiritual, and pastoral needs of service users, carers, and staff throughout AWP.
The role requires flexible working hours and may include extended hours.

Principal duties and responsibilities - in inpatient areas:
The Chaplain shall:
* Line management, supervision, and strategic management of the team.
* Develop a strategy.
* Report writing on activities.
* Ensure patients and their carers receive support from their own clergy/faith leaders as appropriate.
* Minister to seriously ill, dying patients, and their carers.
* Support multidisciplinary teams in developing patient care plans that include religious and spiritual needs.
* Act as a link between the Trust and local faith communities, serving as a resource and point of contact.
* Supervise chaplains, volunteers, and ministerial students, providing training and development support.

Job responsibilities
The Chaplain shall:
* Visit service users and/or their carers in the community to provide spiritual and pastoral care.
* Make notes on appointments, respecting confidentiality, and record these in RIO as appropriate.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including Care Plan Approach meetings, to ensure spiritual needs are integrated into care plans.
* Collaborate closely with the service user's key worker.
* Provide spiritual and pastoral support to staff as requested.
* Work with voluntary and charitable organizations to support service users.
* Assist service users in connecting with their local faith communities, including accompanying them to worship services.
Person Specification
* Degree-level ordination training or equivalent, with over 3 years of experience in recognized religious ministry.
* Ordained or authorized within an appropriate ecclesiastical authority.
* Proven experience in pastoral, spiritual, and religious support in distressing situations.
* Experience working across different faith traditions.
