Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure
Location - Banwell
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join Galliford Try on our infrastructure projects and frameworks. Ideally, you will be based locally, although we are open to subsidizing relocation.
* Create a safe working environment.
* Produce subcontract documentation, including negotiation of terms, prices, and programme.
* Manage subcontract works packages, including interim assessments and change management.
* Issue all commercial notices to clients and subcontractors as required.
* Manage changes promptly, including producing and submitting Compensation Event Quotations.
* Produce, submit, and agree on monthly applications to the client.
* Liaise with operational and engineering staff to ensure site records are maintained to standard.
* Produce detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
* Maintain a detailed ‘Cost Plan’ tracking expenditure and subcontractor liabilities.
* Interpret expenditure reports produced by internal cost systems.
* Attend weekly progress and risk reduction meetings.
* Maximize value and profit by applying the principles of ‘Doing the right thing’ and assist estimating and bid teams with contractual expertise.
About You:
* Good understanding of standard forms of contract.
* Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, and Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle).
* Solid knowledge of construction processes.
* Excellent time and outcome management skills.
* Professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS, ideally working towards full membership (Desirable).
* Relevant degree or experience in a relevant commercial environment.
* Experience on large schemes or multiple smaller schemes.
* CSCS card appropriate.
