They are an award-winning secondary care provider, treating over 50,000 patients annually and offering more than 50 surgical and diagnostic services, including orthopaedics, ophthalmology, gynaecology, spinal, oral, and weight-loss surgery.
Due to the expansion of their pharmacy operations at the Southampton hospital, they are recruiting a Site Lead Pharmacist / Pharmacy Manager.
Role Overview of a Pharmacy Manager:
As the most senior clinical pharmacist on site, you will lead and manage pharmacy services across the Southampton hospital, Urgent Treatment Care (UTC), and affiliated departments. Reporting to the Head of Clinical Services, your responsibilities will include:

Leading a team of 6 permanent staff (Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistant), managing rotas, staffing levels, and service delivery.

Supporting senior management in setting strategic direction and developing infrastructure for high-quality, patient-focused clinical pharmacy services.
*
Maintaining clinical governance arrangements including risk management, guidelines, audits, and policies.
*
Managing day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and effective service delivery.
*
Acting as a clinical role model, providing advice to consultants, clinicians, and patients on safe and cost-effective medicines use.

Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care.
Requirements of a Pharmacy Manager:

Registered Pharmacist with the GPhC.
*
Master’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
*
Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.
*
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Manager, Site Lead Pharmacist, or senior pharmacist in hospital, secondary care, or community/primary care with management expertise.

Independent prescribing qualification advantageous or willingness to work towards.

Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in workforce development and service management.
