Position Overview
Technical Lead – responsible for driving technical excellence, leading AI‑assisted development, and guiding a delivery team toward pod‑based models.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead technical direction for the delivery team, championing AI‑assisted workflows and spec‑driven approaches.
* Guide engineers in leveraging AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q Developer, Cursor, and others to improve productivity and code quality.
* Establish standards and best practices for AI‑native development, including prompt engineering, code‑generation review, and QA.
* Keep up with industry best practices in fintech and AI, assessing technology choices for impact on the team.
* Provide hands‑on technical contributions while balancing leadership duties.
* Line‑manage 4–5 engineers – conduct 1:1s, give performance feedback, and support career development.
* Mentor engineers using coaching to foster solutions, identify improvement areas, and maintain team morale.
* Drive adoption of pod‑based delivery practices and collaborate with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to keep the team aligned with company goals.
* Prioritise work, balance feature delivery with technical debt and support, and ensure sustainable pace.
* Communicate project status, blockers, and delivery estimates to stakeholders, translating technical impact into business value.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Technical Lead or Senior Software Engineer with leadership responsibilities.
* Hands‑on technical skills across fintech/banking technologies.
* Experience with AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, Cursor, etc.) in production.
* Track record of implementing spec‑driven development and AI‑assisted workflows.
* Experience mentoring and coaching engineers.
* Agile/scrum delivery experience with Product Owners and stakeholders.
* Strong communication skills – able to explain complex concepts to non‑technical audiences.
* Experience estimating and delivering work in iterative cycles.
* Problem‑solving, architectural thinking, and strong analytical skills.
Desired Skills
* Oracle, Java/C#, or modern web stack familiarity.
* Background in financial services or regulated industries.
* CI/CD, DevOps, and modern tooling.
* Experience with pod‑based delivery models.
* Knowledge of agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen) and prompt engineering.
* Cloud platform experience (AWS or Azure) and modern application architectures.
