Description As our new Engineering Technician, you’ll be responsible for carrying out and overseeing plant maintenance, installations, and modifications—both during and outside of normal working hours. You'll also ensure that engineering project plans are followed accurately and completed on time. Working closely with the Engineering Technician Team Leader and Maintenance Manager, you'll help deliver a wide range of engineering tasks—from supporting capital projects that expand site capacity to making improvements that meet environmental standards. You’ll also play a key role in responding to equipment issues, helping to minimise downtime and keep production running safely and efficiently. Flexibility is key in this role—you will be required to provide out-of-hours support via our call-out system when needed. Some of your key responsibilities: Support planned maintenance, repairs, and capital work to ensure reliable production and continuous site improvement. Collaborate with the team to deliver engineering projects, implement action plans, and carry out maintenance routines. Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements, maintaining high standards of Responsible Care and housekeeping across the site. Take part in training and development activities, while also mentoring apprentices and supporting team capability building. Provide flexible support including call-out cover and occasional step-in for the Engineering Technician Team Leader when required. What do I need to be successful in this role? Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ) in Engineering. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, ideally from a chemical processing environment. Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Confident using Microsoft Office and working in a computerised environment. A valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.
