Job Overview
You will work flexibly under the direction of senior colleagues to develop and support a range of projects and programmes, work collaboratively with internal and external partners, and engage with communities to enable you to achieve the competencies needed to undertake the degree. 80% of your time will involve on-the-job training where you will work flexibly as part of a team, supporting Public Health Consultants, Heads of Portfolios and Public Health Managers to improve health outcomes for the Gloucestershire population. The remaining 20% of the time will be spent undertaking a BSc (Hons) in Public Health from the University of the West of England (UWE). The Public Health and Communities Hub support the Council's Agile Working Policy and expect team members to work an average of two days per working week in the office, based in central Gloucester, and to attend "in person" meetings as and when required. New starters will be required to come into the office more often in their first three weeks for induction.

Qualifications and Eligibility
* GCSE: Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics or equivalent (Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English accepted).
* Be aged 16 years or over.
* Be an EEA citizen (with Right to Work in the UK) and not be in any other form of full-time education, including other apprenticeships.
* Meet the Education and Skills Funding Agency eligibility requirements.
* Applicants with a previous undergraduate or postgraduate degree will be considered on an individual basis by UWE via the course application process; however, prior degrees in Public Health are not considered.
