Responsible for the accounting and finance functions of the practice in relation to clients such as recording day-to-day financial transactions and ensuring compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules.
Organise and streamline accounts payable and receivable, maintain documentation and records proficiently to ensure correctness and promptness of deliverables. You will handle and resolve enquiries regarding billing problems and disputes and keep spreadsheets for reconciliation purposes.
Primary Responsibilities
* Developing and implementing accounting policies.
* Managing internal controls.
* Prepare payroll for the Kidwells Group.
* Preparation of monthly management accounts for the Kidwells Group including profit and loss forecasts and cashflow and keeping the balance sheet up to date with depreciation.
* Preparation of Client's accounts including filling of accounts, confirmation statement and client financial support and advice.
* Provide advice to the directors for financial strategy.
Duties
* Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions.
* Collate monthly accounts.
* Research and analyse financial reports and market trends.
* Provide insightful information and expectations to Directors to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.
* Present financial reports to board members in formal meetings
* Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
* Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.
* Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.
* Dealing with authorised invoices and ensuring they are paid on time.
* Deal with queries regarding cost positions on file and payments
* Overseeing client credit control
* Ensuring the firms compliance with SRA whilst helping protect the firm and its clients from money laundering and fraud.
* Keeping track of banking on a daily basis and recording all transactions on the case management system
* Dealing with enquiries from fee earners and other staff members.
* Ensuring all hardcopy materials containing confidential information are securely stored.
* Managing disbursement transactions
* Make decisions on systems and procedures which may result in certain retainers being declined.
* Ensure that an anti-money laundering system is in place which does not tend towards regular under-compliance or burdensome over-compliance.
* Oversee the Training and HR needs of all staff.
