Support Practitioner – Tain
Carr Gomm is a leading social care and community development charity. We run a Home‑Based Respite service in Tain, supporting carers by giving them a break while ensuring the people they care for continue to receive the help they need at home. The role involves delivering person‑centred support, helping people with daily routines, meaningful activities, and practical tasks such as meal preparation, medication, and personal care, so they can maintain independence and stay engaged in familiar surroundings.
Responsibilities
* Build strong, trusting relationships with people and their families.
* Support people with daily activities, including meals, medication, and personal care.
* Provide practical assistance with tasks such as meal preparation, medication management, and personal hygiene.
* Travel to support people in rural areas; a valid driving licence is required (non‑drivers may be considered).
* Work flexible shift patterns, including days, evenings, and weekends (example shift pattern: 7 am – 3 pm or 3 pm – 9 pm).
Qualifications
* People who are caring, reliable, and motivated to make a difference in their community.
* Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
* Commitment to achieving an SVQ in Health and Social Care during the course of employment.
* Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns.
