Role & Summary
To provide the continued delivery and development of an accessible and equitable nursing service that has a consistent and sustainable impact on the experience of patients with complex and overriding health needs, including learning disabilities and palliative care.
To provide visible leadership to the Care Team, ensuring the delivery of expert, high-quality specialist nursing care, advice, and psychosocial support during the night shift, with some rotation onto days to ensure continuity of leadership
Role Focus
* Provide nursing leadership across all cohorts, including residents with learning disabilities.
* Support the Director of Nursing and Day Matron with assessment, planning, admissions, and discharges.
* Supervise staff, oversee competencies, and ensure high standards of practice.
* Deliver teaching and training during night shifts.
* Lead on audits, safety monitoring, and quality assurance.
* Provide visible leadership and support to the night team.
* Promote a harmonious environment, remaining proactive and dedicated to patient and staff wellbeing.
* Work predominantly on night shifts, with a short rotation onto days to support continuity of leadership and care & flexibility of cover with the nursing team as needed.
Experience/Qualifications
* NMC Registration (Required)
* Experience with adult nursing, preferably within community or palliative care
