Are you wanting arewarding patient focussed role? Addingham Surgery are looking for a MedicalReceptionist to join their small friendly team. Ideally with current experienceof working in a medical practice but not essential as full training will be given. The successful candidate will be joining a patientcentred training practice in a village setting and work as part of a team ofseven experienced committed receptionists/administrators. A minimum of 21 hoursis needed worked over 4 days, Monday to Friday. Addingham Surgery is a modernpurpose built premises with plenty of free car parking. The practice has 3,400patients with a growing list.
Main duties of the job
To be responsiblefor undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of generalsupport to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include, but are not limitedto, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system,booking appointments, the processing of information and assisting patients asrequired.
To act as thecentral point of contact for patients, the distribution of information,messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multi-disciplinaryteam members and external agencies such as secondary care and community serviceproviders.

Job responsibilities

Maintainand monitor the practice appointment system
Processpersonal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
Answerincoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requestappropriately
Signpostpatients to the correct service
Initiatingcontact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members andexternal agencies
Clinicallycode data on system one
Photocopydocumentation as required
Processtasks and notifications within the clinical system
Data entryof new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
Undertakedesignated administrative tasks in allocated admin time such as, referrals,registrations, document management, recalls etc
Input datainto patients healthcare records as necessary
Directrequests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLAforms and support with private report requests
Manage allqueries as necessary in an efficient manner
Carry outsystem searches as requested
Ensure allpathology specimens are ready and collected by the courier
Maintain aclean, tidy, effective working area at all times
Advisepatients of private fee charges, accept payment and issue receipts
Processprescription requests, hard copy and electronically
Monitor andmaintain the reception area and notice boards
Support allclinical staff with general tasks as requested
