Senior Psychosocial Lead (Family Therapist)
We are introducing a new senior role to support and enable our Psychosocial Services for families at Shooting Star Childrens Hospices. This opportunity welcomes a therapist or clinical psychologist with management experience and a qualification in family therapy. The Senior Psychosocial Lead will ensure our care is as safe and effective as possible, continue to develop governance, a psychosocial education pathway, and well‑being support for our staff, and will provide day‑to‑day clinical oversight of the team and families in crisis.
Job Title: Senior Psychosocial Lead (Family Therapist)
Salary: £47,000 – £56,000 (plus geographical allowance)
Hours: Full Time, 37.5
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Guildford, Surrey or Hampton, Middlesex, 3RA TW12
Responsibilities
As a service manager, the Senior Psychosocial Lead will work alongside the Psychosocial Service managers and deputy the Head of Psychosocial Services. Key responsibilities include:
* Lead and develop holistic psychosocial services and governance.
* Provide clinical oversight and supervision of the team.
* Offer client‑facing family therapy, one day per week.
* Support staff wellbeing and professional development.
* Assist in service development and compassionate leadership.
* Travel across both hospices and supervise out‑of‑hours provision.
About You
We are looking for a counsellor, psychotherapist, arts therapist or clinical psychologist with a qualification in family therapy. Desired experience includes:
* Previous work in healthcare, hospice or palliative care.
* Experience in management, service development and compassionate leadership.
* Proficiency in delivering family therapy interventions addressing relational issues, conflict, communication, trauma and emotional distress.
