Overview
The successful candidate will join the team of 2 Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeons (from East Lancashire Hospital Trust (ELHT)), 1 Oral Surgery Consultant, 1 Specialist, 2 clinical fellows, 2 dental core trainees and 1 Oral Surgery registrar.
Schedule
The indicative timetable of the post will include 9 clinical sessions: 4 clinics, 3 Minor Ops, 1 GA theatre and an SPA/ Admin session. The post holder will preferably work Tuesday to Friday.
Qualifications & Expectations
The successful candidate will be a capable Specialty Dentist with an interest in Oral Surgery with extended competencies. The new appointee will be flexible and enthusiastic, possessing good communication skills and a positive attitude.

About the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Unit
The unit provides specialist care to adults and children, receiving referrals covering many aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. It carries out minor oral surgery under local anaesthesia or conscious sedation, and has theatres for procedures under general anaesthesia. Bolton is a spoke hospital focusing mainly on oral surgery; complex oral and maxillofacial surgery cases or patients requiring an inpatient stay are transferred to the hub unit at Royal Blackburn Hospital.
