Our School of Health and Social Wellbeing at UWE Bristol runs a range of postgraduate (PG), undergraduate (UG), Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and international programmes related to nursing.

Joining us as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, you’ll be responsible for teaching and assessing specifically related to nursing practice which could include UG nursing programmes including apprenticeships, an academic personal tutor role, research support for students, and being part of the nursing teams in curriculum development and quality monitoring.

There may also be PG CPD teaching in nursing or other relevant health and social care programmes aligned with your areas of expertise.


About You

You’ll be a registered nurse with the NMC, who can demonstrate a range of experience with a strong understanding of promoting holistic patient‑centred care. Effective communication is essential, alongside an understanding of assessment and management strategies, interprofessional and inter‑agency working and contemporary healthcare.

You’ve got a sound range of nursing experience as well as experience of working within an interdisciplinary team. You’re an excellent communicator, with great interpersonal skills and a commitment to close team working.


Where you will be working

UWE Bristol is a campus‑based University with vibrant campus communities that are central to student life. In this role, you’ll be based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles from Bristol city centre. You’ll spend most of your time on campus, with the opportunity to work from home with the agreement of your people manager where possible.

We have a full time permanent post available, along with a part time, permanent post working on a 0.5 FTE contract. We may consider these roles on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time. Salary offers are made in line with the University’s salary assessment guidelines, reflecting your relevant skills and experience in parity with colleagues. This post requires enhanced DBS clearance.
