Supply Desk is partnering with a nurturing and inclusive school in Milton Keynes, seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Worker to join their team immediately. This is a meaningful opportunity to support young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome behavioural challenges and thrive both academically and personally.
About the Role:
Provide targeted one-to-one and small group behavioural support for pupils with SEMH needs
Implement and monitor behaviour support plans and restorative approaches to promote positive behaviour
Use de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour management strategies to support pupils in managing their emotions
Collaborate closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies to support students' emotional and behavioural development
Build trusting, empathetic relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and resilience
Support pupils during lessons, break times, and other school activities to ensure consistent behaviour support
Assist in creating a safe, inclusive environment that promotes wellbeing and learning
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviours, ideally within a school or alternative provision setting
Be calm, patient, and empathetic, able to manage challenging situations with professionalism
Demonstrate effective use of positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
Be committed to safeguarding, inclusivity, and promoting student wellbeing
Work well as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly with staff, students, and families
Show flexibility, resilience, and a proactive attitude to daily challenges
Ideally hold a background in youth work, SEN support, mental health, or care work
