About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher of English who sees every sentence as an opportunity to teach pupils how to think with precision. The role will begin in September 2026 at Ossett Academy & Accord Sixth Form.
Ossett Academy is a large secondary academy with great facilities and a fantastic English department. The candidate will have the opportunity to teach at A‑Level in the standalone Accord Sixth Form building if this is an area of interest or development.
Responsibilities
* Shape the curriculum to reflect personal subject passions and inspire a new generation.
* Develop creative lessons that meet the needs of a diverse pupil body and ensure alignment with industry standards.
* Focus on the attainment of pupils at every ability level, demonstrating vigour and initiative.
* Instill an interest in English among all pupils, bringing innovative practice, resilience, vision and energy to the classroom.
Qualifications and Experience
Applications are welcomed from teachers across the experience range. Candidates should have a passion for literature, a desire to develop pupils and a commitment to achieving excellent academic results.
