Our client is looking for a Risk Manager to work on a long-term HVDC Interconnector project on a contract basis.
The Role
Leads the identification, analysis, and monitoring of risks across the interconnector project, supporting the Cable Contractor in managing risk exposure and mitigation measures throughout the project lifecycle. The Risk Manager works with the project team and subcontractors to maintain the risk register, facilitate workshops, and ensure integration of risk data with project controls and reporting. The role requires both qualitative and quantitative risk management capability and close coordination with planning, commercial, and HSE functions.
Key Duties
Develop and maintain the project risk register, ensuring risks are clearly defined, assessed, and assigned owners.
Facilitate regular risk workshops (e.g. HAZID, HAZCON, HAZOP) with internal teams and subcontractors to update and review risks and mitigation actions.
Support quantitative schedule and cost risk analysis in collaboration with project controls.
Provide monthly risk reports, trends, and escalation summaries for internal and Employer reporting.
Ensure alignment between risk mitigation measures and project plans, budgets, and change control. The Person
Substantial experience in project risk management on infrastructure or construction projects.
Competence in both qualitative and quantitative risk analysis techniques.
Familiarity with risk registers, impact/probability matrices, and mitigation planning.
Strong facilitation, communication, and reporting skills.
Relevant degree in engineering or project management; risk management certification (e.g. MoR, PMIRMP) and familiarity with ISO 31000 are advantageous
