About The Role
Our Balfour Beatty Highways business has a terrific opportunity for a Senior Traffic Manager to join our £1.2 billion Lower Thames Crossing project, consisting of 43 bridges, including viaducts, 17km of complex Highways construction, complex utility diversions, and a scheme-wide, industry leading approach to carbon reduction.
We provide high quality asset strategy, management and planning consultancy services to a wide range of public and private sector customers. We provide specialist, reliable, sustainable and creative advice for asset management planning and implementation in the UK. As an Senior Traffic Manager, you will be tasked to deliver an exceptional onboarding experience for new hires by coordinating and managing all aspects of the onboarding process, ensuring new starters are integrated into Lower Thames Crossing, as well as supporting the wider Balfour Beatty Highways business efficiently and effectively.
What you'll be doing
* Plan, manage, and coordinate all aspects of traffic and non-motorised user safety, including the procurement and management of highway and footway space and all related traffic management operations.
* Ensure the appointment and oversight of qualified Traffic Management Professionals to deliver, inspect, and monitor Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) in compliance with TTM design standards, mitigating risks to ALARP levels.
* Oversee the implementation and adherence to legal instruments such as Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTROs) and Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices (TTRNs).
* Ensure that TTM design and engineering provide safe systems of work for all users.
* Identify and mitigate foreseeable risks associated with traffic management.
* Represent the project in stakeholder and contractor engagement meetings.
* Manage the TTM programme and oversee the CCTV control room for incident management and event logging
Who we're looking for
* Comprehensive knowledge of Traffic Sign Regulations General Directions and relevant Traffic Signs Manuals.
* NHSS 12A Traffic Safety Supervisor Qualification.
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, or CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (minimum requirement).
* NHSS 12D M6 or M7 Qualification.
* Institute of Highways Engineers (IHE) Professional Certificate or equivalent Level 4 qualification in Temporary Traffic Management Engineering.
* IHE Professional Diploma or equivalent Diploma-level qualification (Level 5 or above).
* Engineering Technician (EngTECH) or higher registration with the Engineering Council.
