Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and a strong understanding of food safety standards. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meat products, ensuring that all cuts meet the culinary requirements of our establishment. This role is essential in maintaining the quality and freshness of our offerings while adhering to health regulations.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cut various types of meat, including beef, pork, lamb, and poultry, according to specifications.
* Ensure all meat products are handled in compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the butcher area and equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
* Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages or quality issues.
* Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about meat products and offering recommendations.
* Participate in training sessions to stay updated on new techniques and food safety practices.
Experience
* Previous experience as a butcher in a shop environment is required.
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in meat handling.
* Culinary skills with an understanding of various cooking methods related to meat preparation.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
