Design Manager
Location: Northampton
Ridgeway & Co are seeking an inspirational Design Manager with a keen eye for detail and strong expertise in construction technology to join our growing team at an exciting stage of business expansion.
We are looking for a proven professional with experience delivering projects up to £20m, ideally within the industrial and fit‑out sectors. The successful candidate will combine strong design leadership with hands‑on technical experience to ensure high‑quality, efficient project delivery.
Role Overview
As Design Manager, you will oversee the full project lifecycle, from initial design coordination through to handover and aftercare. You will be a key member of the project delivery team, ensuring design excellence and technical compliance throughout.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure client requirements are met and maintained throughout the design process
* Coordinate effectively with designers, project teams, consultants, and clients
* Lead the delivery of technically sound, high‑quality design solutions
* Support projects to run smoothly, on time, and within budget
* Provide technical input to mitigate risk and resolve design challenges

Requirements & Experience
* Proven experience delivering industrial and fit‑out projects
* Strong track record of successful project delivery
* Evidence of longevity and strong performance with previous employers
Qualifications & Skills
* Degree or equivalent higher education
* Architectural or structural background preferred
* Valid CSCS card
* Strong IT and technical coordination skills
* Excellent design capability with a demonstrable track record
