Quantity Surveyor – NEC Change & Commercial (Contractor-Side)

A growing consultancy, supporting Tier 1 contractors on major UK infrastructure programmes, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor with strong commercial experience and NEC contract knowledge to join their team.
This role focuses on managing change under NEC3/NEC4, working closely with planners using Primavera P6, and engaging directly with delivery teams and subcontractors. The position involves 2–3 days per week on site in central London, with the remainder of the time remote.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage NEC compensation events, early warnings, and risk provisions (primarily Option C).
* Support the commercial assessment of programme impacts alongside planning teams (P6).
* Liaise with contractors and subcontractors to validate change and ensure commercial recovery.
* Prepare and maintain cost forecasts, cash flow, and change reports.
* Support wider commercial strategy and dispute avoidance.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience in infrastructure, rail, or major civils projects.
* Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial change processes.
* Contractor-side experience or direct consultancy support to contractors.
* Familiarity with planning outputs (e.g. Primavera P6 schedules).
* Excellent commercial judgement and communication skills.
