Keepmoat Homes is a fast-growing top 10 UK housebuilder. We design and build quality homes and create places where people want to live.
Our investment and participation help transform communities and improve the lives of local people. We have a national presence combined with local knowledge and expertise in all aspects of housing – from finance, design and planning, to developing and building. Our comprehensive skills and capabilities give us a wider perspective across the entire housing lifecycle, allowing us to create lower-risk ways of building homes that people need.
For over 90 years, our work has been visibly integrated into local communities, making community involvement part of our DNA. We hire local suppliers and tradespeople and collaborate with communities to ensure our plans meet their needs.
Main Purpose of the Role
We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Manager to join us, leading various Technical and Engineering functions in the South West, based from our office near Bristol, as part of the wider West Midlands region.
Reporting to the Technical Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all design and utility information between external consultants, contractors, and internal departments. They will lead their teams to ensure timely approvals and quotes, and that high-quality, accurate information is issued to other departments.
The role also involves setting, monitoring, and delivering targets, producing accurate and timely reports, and developing team members. The candidate will challenge others to improve performance without damaging confidence or output.
HS&S Responsibilities
• Ensure personal and team health and safety, adhering to Keepmoat's Health, Safety, and Sustainability standards.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
We seek an established Technical Manager embodying our values: a straightforward and skilled communicator, creative, and experienced in generating innovative ideas within architectural and engineering functions. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the construction industry, with strong industry experience. They should be a collaborative leader capable of building strong relationships, working cross-functionally, and inspiring teams.
The candidate must have up-to-date knowledge of building legislation, experience with partnership agreements, and an understanding of planning issues and processes relevant to the role. A degree in planning or postgraduate qualification with eligibility for RTPI membership is required.
This role suits either an experienced candidate at a similar level or someone looking to step up from a Technical Manager or equivalent role. It is the second-in-command to the Technical Director, with support for future advancement.
