Overview
The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees housekeeping functions in assigned sections and assumes all Housekeeping Manager responsibilities in their absence.
Responsibilities
1. Inspect Room Attendant’s work daily to ensure standards and productivity.
2. In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager, inspect VIP rooms and report availability to the Front Office.
3. Oversee floor closing procedures, ensuring carts are clean and stocked.
4. Complete and submit daily assignment records on time.
5. Maintain key control security.
6. Manage Lost and Found items per standards.
7. Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, and common areas.
8. Assign daily duties to staff, ensuring proper coverage.
9. Carry a pager or radio to stay in contact with the Front Office and Engineering.
10. Report progress on out-of-order rooms to the Guest Services Manager.
11. Initiate and follow up on repair work orders with Engineering.
12. Assist in training housekeeping staff.
13. Perform room cleaning as needed.
14. Ensure biannual cleaning projects are completed.
15. Maintain overall guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
* High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework helpful.
* 2-3 years of progressive hotel or related experience preferred.
* Previous supervisory experience preferred.
* Ability to stand throughout shift.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills with staff and guests, maintaining a friendly and service-oriented attitude.
