We are looking for a remote Design Estimator, who will work closely with the sales team, clients, and project teams to provide estimates for security jobs. You will:
* be responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates and proposals for security system installations.
* liaise with sales, engineering, and project management teams to analyse tender documents, develop system designs, and submit winning bids that meet client requirements and company objectives.
Role Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for appropriately evaluating the cost of a project, and evaluating the cost to take on that project.
* Completing estimates for all security work.
* Vendor prequalification and tender preparation.
* Identifying labour, materials, and time requirements by carefully reviewing RFPs.
* Reviewing blueprints, specifications, and related bid documents.
* Partnering with the Sales and Operations and assists in qualifying RFPs.
* Assisting in outlining specifications for servers, workstations, and networks system design.
* Working with manufacturers and procurement for accurate pricing.
* Walking project site with Sales as needed.
* Attending pre-bid meetings as needed.
* And any other tasks as assigned by your manager.
Role Requirements
* Proven experience as an Estimator or Bid Co-ordinator within the security systems or related industry.
* Extensive experience working with enterprise brands for example Genetic, Lenel, Software House, etc.
* Strong understanding of electronic security systems including CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and integrated systems.
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
* Proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel), and familiarity with estimating or design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Estimating Tools, Bluebeam).
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
* Industry-recognised qualifications in security systems design or engineering (e.g., NSI, BTEC, FIA) would be nice to have.
* Experience working remotely in a global organisation, particularly with experience in EMEA would be an advantage.
