Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation and repair of various types of windows, ensuring that all fittings are secure, functional, and meet safety standards. Duties
* Install and replace windows in residential and commercial properties according to specifications.
* Interpret schematics and blueprints to determine installation requirements.
* Use power tools safely and effectively for cutting, shaping, and assembling materials.
* Perform welding tasks as needed for custom window fittings.
* Conduct electrical work related to window installations, including wiring for automated systems.
* Ensure proper sealing and insulation of windows to enhance energy efficiency.
* Carry out masonry work when necessary to prepare openings for window installations.
* Fabricate custom window frames and fittings as required by project specifications.
* Collaborate with carpenters to ensure accurate measurements and placements.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Window Fitter or similar role in the construction industry.
* Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings.
* Strong skills in using power tools, including saws, drills, and welding equipment.
* Knowledge of electrical systems related to window installations is advantageous.
* Experience with roofing tasks may be beneficial for specific projects.
* Familiarity with painting techniques for finishing touches on installations.
* Basic masonry skills are preferred for preparing installation sites.
* Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.
* Physical fitness is essential, as the role may involve lifting heavy materials and working at heights.
