Job Title: Mechanical Fitter (Service position) Salary: £37,000 per annum OTE: £40,000 - £42,000 (including overtime and allowances) Location: UK-wide (regular travel required) Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Overview An established engineering services business is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to support installation, maintenance, and servicing activities across sites throughout the UK. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, variety in their working environment, and nationwide projects. The position involves regular UK travel with 2-3 nights away per week on average (not every week), depending on project requirements. Key Responsibilities Installation, assembly, servicing, and repair of mechanical equipment and systems Door Installation Experience Working from engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications Carrying out fault-finding, adjustments, and mechanical repairs on site Use of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely and effectively Supporting site activities to ensure work is completed on time and to a high standard Complying with all health & safety procedures and site regulations Completing job documentation, reports, and paperwork accurately Working independently or as part of a small site team Skills & Experience Required Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar mechanical engineering role Strong mechanical knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings Comfortable working on customer sites across the UK Willingness to stay away from home when required Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail Full UK driving licence Desirable (but not essential) Experience working on industrial or construction sites Relevant mechanical qualifications or apprenticeships CSCS card or similar safety certification Experience working in customer-facing environments What's on Offer Competitive base salary of £37,000 OTE of £40,000-£42,000 through overtime and travel-related earnings Varied UK-wide work with paid travel and overnight stays Long-term, stable employment with development opportunities Supportive team environment and structured onboarding If this position is of interest send your cv .
