The Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist will work as a member of the wider locality‑based multidisciplinary Manchester Macmillan Supportive and Palliative Care Service.
Responsibilities
* Support Neighborhood teams to deliver locally driven high‑quality care that is responsive to patient and carer needs, including education of other health care professionals.
* Provide training, support and advice for the multidisciplinary team.
* Provide supportive palliative care to enhance the quality of life for patients/carers with any life‑limiting illness, including complex physical, psychological and emotional needs.
* Apply extensive knowledge of palliative medication to support complex symptom management.
Qualifications
* Experience and knowledge in palliative and supportive care.
* Strong understanding of palliative medication and symptom management.
* Ability to deliver education and training to multidisciplinary teams.
About The Team
The post holder will work as part of the Macmillan Specialist multidisciplinary team comprising Medics, Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Nurses, Speech and Language Therapist, Assistant Practitioners, Admin support and Volunteer Coordinators.
