Private Client Tax Senior Manager – Watford
Working with a Top 50 Accountancy Firm who are looking for an experienced Private Client Tax Senior Manager to join their growing team in Watford .
You’ll manage your own portfolio of High‑Net‑Worth clients, work closely with partners on tax planning and advisory projects, and play a key role in supporting and developing junior team members.
Their clients include high-net-worth individuals, sole traders, partnerships, and trust beneficiaries. Whilst most are UK‑based, you’ll also gain exposure to non‑resident and non‑domiciled clients, offering a rich variety of complex and interesting work – from residency planning to international structuring.
What you'll be doing:
Managing all aspects of annual tax compliance for your client portfolio, including income tax, capital gains tax, and National Insurance matters.
Reviewing Self Assessment tax returns prepared by other team members and ensuring accurate, timely electronic filing.
Acting as a key point of contact for your clients - building trusted relationships through clear communication by email, phone, and face‑to‑face meetings.
Assisting partners in the delivery of bespoke advisory projects, including inheritance tax planning, residence and domicile issues, trust matters, and business structuring.
Preparing and attending client meetings, setting budgets, managing workloads, and ensuring work is completed efficiently and within deadlines.
Liaising with HMRC regarding enquiries and disclosures, including correspondence under the digital disclosure facility.
Coordinating information from clients and third‑party professionals to ensure smooth and accurate tax return preparation.
Managing billing and monitoring your own time budgets and chargeability, keeping partners informed of progress and concerns.
Contributing to internal management meetings and supporting team development and training.
Participating in networking and business development activities to help grow the firm’s client base.
What we're looking for:
ATT or CTA qualification (or working towards).
Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax compliance and planning.
Experience managing a client portfolio, ideally of HNWIs or complex private clients.
Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
Ability to manage deadlines, delegate effectively, and take initiative.
A proactive, professional approach with a focus on quality and client care.
