Join to apply for the Trustee with Funding Experience role at Digswell Arts Trust.
Overview
Digswell Arts Trust is seeking a trustee with funding experience to help shape our next chapter. Join one of Hertfordshire’s leading art charities supporting emerging artists through affordable studios and community engagement.
What difference will you make?
Your expertise will help strengthen Digswell Arts Trust’s long‑term sustainability and ensure that we can continue offering affordable studios and development opportunities to emerging artists. By advising on funding strategy and supporting new partnerships, you’ll help the Trust increase its financial resilience, secure vital resources, and expand the impact of our work in the community. Your contribution will directly influence how we plan future programmes, maintain our creative spaces, and support more artists in Hertfordshire for years to come.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone with experience in funding, fundraising, or income generation within the arts, heritage, or wider charitable sector. A good understanding of how arts organisations sustain themselves financially — through grants, partnerships, or donor engagement — would be especially valuable. You’ll bring enthusiasm, creative thinking, and a collaborative approach to help the Trust explore new funding opportunities and strengthen existing relationships. Prior trustee experience is welcome but not essential. We particularly encourage applications from individuals who are passionate about supporting artists and creative communities in Hertfordshire and who want to make a meaningful contribution to the future of Digswell Arts Trust.
What will you be doing?
As a trustee, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future direction of Digswell Arts Trust — supporting our mission to provide affordable studios and professional opportunities for emerging artists. We’re entering an important phase as we strengthen our financial sustainability and explore new funding partnerships to secure and enhance our studios in Hertfordshire. The board will be guiding this development, ensuring that our facilities and programmes continue to thrive and serve the local creative community. The new trustee will contribute to discussions on strategic funding priorities and may work closely with our Chair and Treasurer to support grant applications, donor engagement, and long‑term income planning. Our board is a small, supportive group of artists, arts professionals, and community representatives. Meetings are collaborative and friendly, offering the opportunity to help shape one of Hertfordshire’s longest‑running arts charities as it builds towards a sustainable future for the next generation of makers.
