We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly and supportive primary care team.
The HCA will support the clinical and administrative teams to improve patient access, enhance patient experience and help reduce GP workload. The role includes patient-facing clinical support, health check activities, preparation for long-term condition reviews, and clinical administrative responsibilities such as room preparation, stock control and safety checks.
Working under the supervision of GPs and the nursing team, the postholder will provide safe delegated clinical support while contributing to the smooth running of clinics and the wider practice environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team and is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in general practice.

Duties include performing routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, height, weight and BMI, undertaking urine dipstick testing, supporting NHS Health Checks, and collecting lifestyle information including smoking status and alcohol intake. The role will also support preparation for long-term condition and medication reviews by gathering clinical information and completing templates under supervision.
The postholder will assist with patient care navigation, signposting patients to appropriate services and supporting health promotion.
Clinical administrative duties include preparing and restocking clinical rooms, monitoring clinical stock levels, rotating stock and checking expiry dates. The role also includes infection prevention and control checks, monitoring waste disposal and sharps bins, and ensuring clinical areas remain clean and compliant.
Additional responsibilities include daily and weekly safety checks of emergency equipment and medical kits, fridge temperature monitoring in line with cold chain guidance, preparing equipment for clinics and procedures, and supporting workflow tasks, scanning and patient recalls where appropriate.
