Job Description
The Technical Buyer is responsible for requisitions, raising purchase orders and expediting, sourcing new vendors and monitoring current vendors on the Approved Vendor List.
* Input to bidding process, obtaining quotations for company designed and bought in products to meet customer specifications, specific industry standards and local and international requirements.
* Working with clients and suppliers to determine timely procurement specifications.
* Agreeing terms and conditions with suppliers, clients and Bekaert including flow downs from clients and end users.
* Procurement of Flintstone designed and bought in products to meet contractual requirements and local and international requirements.
* Identifying and qualifying new suppliers.
* Setting up purchasing agreement with key suppliers. Visiting existing and potential suppliers and carrying out vendor assessments and audits.
* Liaising with project teams on schedule issues and assisting in finding solutions to late delivery and quality non-conformance.
* Ensuring all suppliers adhere to all Flintstone and Bekaert policies including quality, HSE and business ethics.
Desirable Requirements of the Job
* Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Qualification
Work Experience
* Minimum 5 years in a similar position.
Essential Specific Skills/Knowledge Needed
* Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMs and Project
* Excellent interpersonal communication both oral and written
* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Well organised
