Overview
We are excited to announce a new vacancy at Telford College for the role of Library & Resource Coordinator. This is a full-time position based in our newly refurbished Library at the Wellington Campus, opening next term. The purpose of this role is to lead the development and management of the College's Library and Learning Resource Services, both physical and digital. The role includes establishing and implementing a new library management system, curating and maintaining physical and electronic resources, and developing a dynamic learning environment that supports students and staff across all curriculum areas.
Responsibilities
* Lead on the establishment of the college's new library/resource centre.
* Coordinate the selection, acquisition, cataloguing, and classification of physical and electronic resources.
* Work with IT and suppliers to set up and configure the library management system.
* Develop policies and procedures for borrowing, access, and use of resources.
* Oversee the day-to-day running of the library and learning resources centre.
* Maintain and develop a high-quality, responsive collection of print and digital resources aligned to curriculum needs.
* Promote effective use of digital platforms and electronic resources.
* Monitor and manage stock levels, subscriptions, and budgets effectively.
* Support teaching staff in identifying, sourcing, and embedding appropriate learning resources into schemes of work and lesson delivery.
* Provide user support and training for students and staff to access and navigate resources.
* Contribute to the development of independent learning, research skills, and digital literacy.
* Produce regular reports on usage, stock, and impact of the service.
* Collaborate with curriculum teams, Student Services, and IT to ensure resource provision is inclusive, accessible, and meets learner needs.
Experience & Qualifications
* Experience of working in a library or learning resource environment.
* Experience setting up a library management system or leading a significant resource project.
* Experience of sourcing, cataloguing, and classifying resources.
* Strong digital literacy, including familiarity with e-resource platforms and library management systems.
