If you've worked in care, support work, residential care, supported living, mental health services, or with adults or children who need extra support, we want to hear from you.
A specialist SEND school is looking for caring, patient and resilient individuals to join their team this September as Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants.
The pupils you'll support have a range of additional needs, including:
* Autism (ASC)
* Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
* Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
* Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
* Communication and Speech & Language Needs
* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Some pupils require personal care, mobility support, sensory support, and help with daily routines. Others need a calm, trusted adult to guide them through their school day.
Sound familiar?
If you've worked in care, chances are you're already using many of the skills these pupils need most.
Why support workers thrive in SEND schools
You already know how to:
✔ Build trusting relationships
✔ Support people with complex needs
✔ Stay calm in challenging situations
✔ Encourage independence
✔ Communicate with empathy and patience
✔ Celebrate small wins that make a huge difference
The setting may be different, but the heart of the role is the same, helping people achieve things they never thought possible.
What you'll be doing
* Supporting pupils in the classroom and around the school
* Providing 1:1 and small group support
* Assisting with personal care where required
* Supporting sensory and emotional regulation
* Helping pupils access learning in a way that works for them
* Celebrating progress, no matter how big or small
