We’re recruiting a commercially astute and confident Principal Planning Engineer to lead project planning across major contracts, from early-stage development to construction delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team and support both operational planning and team growth as project volumes increase.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead planning activity under the Project Controls Manager’s guidance.
* Build and manage accurate project schedules across all phases.
* Monitor progress, manage changes, and produce key reports.
* Perform risk assessments and 'what-if' schedule analysis.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure delivery alignment.
* Support planning team recruitment as new projects scale.
Requirements
Essential:
* Full project lifecycle experience (engineering to handover).
* Strong grasp of time, cost, and commercial interdependencies.
* Confident using planning software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Skilled in Earned Value Analysis (EVA).
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
Desirable
* Experience in regulated environments.
* Membership of ACostE, APM, or similar.
