Residential support worker

Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough Council
Residential support worker
Posted: 30 March
Offer description

We have an exciting role on offer within our Prevention, Provider and Support Services as a Residential Support Worker.

Due to changes within our service, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a residential support worker to join our team within Levick Court, which provides care and support to adults with learning disabilities during their short stay breaks.

We are looking for individuals with the skills and knowledge required to support our existing team in providing individualised care and support to the people who access our service, whilst also being expected to direct staff and make decisions in the absence of management.

Levick Court offers short stay breaks for adults with learning disabilities and is a 24-hour service. The building is purpose built, which ensures that we can meet the needs of a wide range of individuals who access our service. We have spacious communal areas including multi-purpose activity rooms, sensory room, media room and secure gardens available to those accessing our services.

We have domestic and catering staff on site; however, this role does involve some additional housekeeping duties.

We are looking for caring, fun, creative individuals, who can work collaboratively with our team to ensure that the people that use our service enjoy their stays. This role will appeal to you if you have a passion for helping others, and you like being involved in activities with the people that you support.

You will have good communication and organisational skills and will be a keyworker for a number of individuals who access the service.

If successful, you will be joining a friendly supportive team that is passionate about delivering excellent care services to all.

It is essential that applicants hold an NVQ Level 3 in health and social care or equivalent and have 2 years’ experience of working in a care setting, and it is desirable that you have experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and hold leadership qualifications.

Please note, this is a part time vacancy, working 24 hours per week.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.

If this is you, this may be the opportunity you are looking for!

If you would like to talk through this opportunity further, please contact, Scott Griggs, Care Home Manager at or call 01642 726493.

Please note Middlesbrough Council do not currently offer sponsorships.

The above post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

We operate a Guaranteed Interview Scheme for applicants that can show they meet all the essential criteria and have indicated they have a disability, are a looked after young person, care leaver or a veteran.
