Latham & Bond HR are recruiting for our client, a leading automotive manufacturing business based in Swindon, to appoint a Head of Finance. This is a key leadership role for an experienced finance professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to make a strategic impact.
The Head of Finance will oversee all aspects of the finance function, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, and team leadership. You’ll manage a team of four and work closely with the senior leadership team to drive financial performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the finance department, ensuring strong financial governance, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
* Manage all aspects of financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and long-term forecasts.
* Provide commercial and strategic insight to the senior management team to inform business decisions.
* Oversee cash flow, working capital, cost controls, and financial risk management.
* Maintain relationships with auditors, banks, and external advisors.
* Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in finance systems and processes.
* Lead and support a finance team including Accounts Payable, Credit Control, Management Accounts, and Finance Assistants.
* Oversee tax, VAT, and payroll compliance.
* Collaborate with operational teams to provide financial analysis and business performance insights.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
* Significant experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the automotive or manufacturing sector.
* Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development capabilities.
* Excellent understanding of financial controls, compliance, and reporting standards.
* Proven ability to influence stakeholders and contribute to strategic business planning.
* Analytical mindset with strong commercial acumen.
* Comfortable in a hands-on finance leadership role in a fast-moving environment.
