Variable lecturer - hospitality

About the role

As a lecturer in Catering and Hospitality, you will assist with the effective planning and organisation of Catering and Hospitality programmes and teach on a range of related courses with students of varying abilities and ages. You will teach across a range of levels and awarding bodies, including L1, L2 and L3 courses as well as working with Gateway and City and Guilds. You should be willing to assist the Curriculum Manager with curriculum development, the expansion and development of the department, and participate in marketing events as required.


Qualifications and requirements

The successful candidate will be qualified or working towards a teaching qualification. Experience in teaching or training in a relevant subject at Catering L3 or degree level, with a minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy, and Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (or working towards). Demonstrated ability to articulate clearly in a range of teaching situations. Ability to work as a team player with good communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, students, parents and external bodies. Strong administration skills to support accurate student record-keeping. Energy and enthusiasm for working in a rapidly changing environment, with the ability to adapt teaching practices using a wide range of teaching aids, including ILT where applicable.
