Overview
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Transport Administrator to support the daily operations of a busy transport/logistics department. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience within transport or logistics is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the transport team and transport manager
Schedule and coordinate driver routes, deliveries, and collections
Process delivery notes, manifests, and transport paperwork
Maintain accurate records of driver hours, vehicle usage, and compliance documentation
Liaise with drivers, customers, and internal teams to resolve queries
Book deliveries and collections with customers and suppliers
Update systems with transport data, job status updates, and delivery information
Monitor inboxes and respond to queries in a timely manner
Ensure vehicle documentation, MOTs, and servicing schedules are up to date
Assist with reporting and general office administration duties
Skills & Experience Required
Previous administration experience (transport/logistics admin desirable)
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills-both written and verbal
Ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively
Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office
Problem-solving attitude with the ability to prioritise workload
Team player with a positive and professional approach
Desirable
Experience working in a transport or logistics environment
Knowledge of compliance requirements (e.g., driver hours, tachographs)
Familiarity with transport management systems (TMS)
