Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to welcome a new member to our dedicated and wonderful team. This is a fantastic chance for us to bring in someone who shares our passion for supporting children and young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health needs in the Hartlepool area.

Our work continues to make a real difference, and recruiting into our team will help us continue to reach young people who can benefit from our support.

We know how important it is to provide both direct and indirect support--whether that's one-to-one sessions, group work, or collaborating with carers and other professionals. Our approach has always been holistic, ensuring that we work in partnership with everyone involved in a young person's care. This new team member will be key in helping us maintain that standard and further develop our collaborative practices

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. As a senior practitioner you will have a genuine interest in collaborative working with young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health problems and including their carers and families.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to develop their leadership and clinical skills in a community setting.

As a core member of the team, you will also be responsible for your own caseload, providing assessments, care co-ordination and care planning and delivering intervention in the community. You will demonstrate excellent assessment skills, interpersonal, and team working skills and be able to work collaboratively with a range of statutory and third sector agencies.

Nursing candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework at the time of applying.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Qualifications

Essential

1. Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work.
2. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
3. Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area (within agreed timescale)
4. 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
5. Depending on work area, recognised sign-off mentor (or equivalent) or must be achieved within agreed timescale.

Knowledge

Essential

6. Demonstrable knowledge to post-graduate level of evidence-based practice in caring for children and young people in the designated field.
7. Understanding of relevant legislation (. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
8. Care Programme Approach and its application in practice.
9. Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice.
10. Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
11. Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
12. Research and development methodology
13. Understanding of psychological models of care and treatment.
