Role Overview
This role is for a new member of the Science faculty to continue the legacy of success in Physics. The successful candidate will teach Physics and deliver Engineering Science to Higher students.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver and assess curriculum for Physics and Engineering Science, ensuring alignment with national curriculum standards.
* Support students in developing critical thinking, problem solving and competence in science and engineering.
* Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
* Contribute to the School’s well‑structured Professional Learning programme and share expertise with colleagues.
* Participate in the development of leadership capacity at all levels and support the Gold Rights Respecting School ethos.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification and subject knowledge in Physics.
* Experience or willingness to deliver Engineering Science to Higher.
* Commitment to the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 – required to join the PVG Scheme or complete a PVG scheme update check.
* Where applicable, completion of an overseas criminal record check if spent 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years.
* Desirable: experience in inclusive and diverse school settings and ability to support children’s rights at the centre of teaching practice.

Additional Information
Salary will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education. Working hours: 35 per week. Flexible working arrangements may be discussed. Post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the PVG Act 2007.
